Design PH in Focus: Vito Selma

Design PH goes to Maison et Objet on 6 – 10 September 2013 at the Paris Nord Villepinte, representing The Art of the Craftsman through 12 design brands from the Philippines. Part of this new movement on the rise is Vito Selma, who brings his exceptional designs and woodcraft to the show.

Vito Selma’s creations are deceptively simple with beautiful complexity at its heels. His chosen medium, wood, is transformed into extraordinary shapes and his designs coax the material into unexpected forms, with undulating lines belied by stillness. His pieces are crafted from unadorned natural wood, showing the medium for what it is and what it can be in its simplicity.
