What to Watch out for at Manila FAME this October

Another season of awe-inspiring design and craftsmanship is fast approaching as Manila FAME gets ready for its October 2013 showcase. One of the longest running trade fairs in the Asia-Pacific and is the only UFI-approved trade fair in the Philippines, Manila FAME: Asia’s Design and Lifestyle Event will be on 17 – 20 October 2013 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City, Philippines.

In its 58th edition, Manila FAME continues to be the country’s premier trade platform for exports and design. Proving over the years that it is an event to be recognized, Manila FAME purveys 100% Philippine-made products crafted through a merging of traditional and modern techniques, utilizing sustainable indigenous materials with innovative approaches to form, function, and design.

Design and craftsmanship are the moving forces behind Manila FAME so expect new designs and innovation for the October edition. It will also present a roster of show features that promises to wow and deliver an exciting show for everyone.

Design PH

Design PH is a brand the goes beyond the boundaries of product innovation and Philippine aesthetics. Featuring products from the creative collaborations of select manufacturers and the bright minds of Philippine design, it showcases works of exceptional quality and craftsmanship under the direction of design icon Budji Layug.

Manila Wear

A branding initiative for fashion apparel and accessories crafted from the country’s local materials, Manila Wear embodies a truly Filipino design sensibility that is synonymous with tropical/resort wear. International fashion icon Josie Natori leads a select group of designers in creating remarkable Manila Wear pieces for the global market.

The Marketplace

Products that emphasize sustainability, the use of indigenous materials, and earth-friendly resources and methods are what The Marketplace offers at Manila FAME. Partnering with local communities and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), it presents a range of products that provide insight to the many indigenous materials and crafts skills of the Philippines.

Craft Spots

Skilled craftsmen breathe life to the many craft forms of the Philippines through live demonstrations of centuries-worth of traditional crafting techniques, transforming indigenous materials into extraordinary shapes and forms that provide a glimpse of the country’s culture of artisanship.

Design Txtile

A display of modern Philippine textiles, crafted from sustainable indigenous fibers. Ethnic-inspired yet versatile, artisanal yet progressive, and distinctly Filipino — Philippine contemporary textile.

DGPDeXign Global Philippines
